Listen: Alvvays Announce Debut Album, Stream ‘Archie, Marry Me’

Toronto group play this year’s Great Escape in Brighton.

Toronto group Alvvays specialise in simple, hard-hitting rock ‘n roll; sun-kissed and ready to be swept up into the hearts of thousands. The band initially released their self-titled debut album last year, but they’re now signed to Polyvinyl for a proper LP deal. A new work is ‘coming soon’, and it’s headed up by ‘Archie, Marry Me’.

The lead track is a drifting, road-tripping work of beauty, surging its way through buzzsaw choruses and dreamy arrangements. Chad VanGaalen produced the record at his Calgary studio.

Alvvays arrive in Brighton for this year’s Great Escape Festival, 8th-10th May. Check out ‘Archie, Marry Me’ and previous track ‘Adult Diversion’.
