Listen: Anna Calvi Shares Bruce Springsteen Cover, ‘Fire’

Domino-signed sensation Anna Calvi tours the UK early next year, with a nine-date February jaunt pencilled in the diary.

As well as announcing her tour supports - experimental composer Anna Meredith and Secretly Canadian signings Woman’s Hour - Calvi’s shared a new track in the form of a Bruce Springsteen cover.

‘Fire’ was originally recorded by Bruce as part of the ‘Darkness on the Edge of Town’ sessions - it was one of 52 songs that didn’t make the cut. Springsteen himself has claimed the song to be a demo that he sent to Elvis just before the latter’s death. Calvi’s take is a ’70s-nodding tribute, sparse to the bone.
