Beirut are one of the performers who have taken part in ‘Red Hot + Rio 2’, a compilation of covers of, and collaborations with legendary Brazilian musicians, to help raise money to fight AIDS.
Other artists taking part in the project include of Montreal, St Vincent, Neon Indian, Dirty Projectors, and Devendra Banhart.
Beirut’s cover of Caetano Veloso’s ‘O Leãozinho’ (which translates as ‘Little Lion’) can be heard below.
Meanwhile, tickets for Beirut’s UK dates (Manchester Academy 6th September, Brixton Academy 16th September) are on sale now.
