Listen: Joanna Gruesome Share New Galaxie 500 ‘Tugboat’ Cover
Outtake from the band’s ‘Weird Sister’ record takes on a 1988 cult classic.
Fortuna Pop! and Slumberland signings Joanna Gruesome have taken on a song big and dear to them in the form of Galaxie 500’s ‘Tugboat’.
The Massachusetts group’s original appeared on debut album ‘Today’, which came out in 1988 via Aurora. What begins as a stirring, paced song - encapsulated brilliantly by Joanna Gruesome’s own deft touches and Alanna McArdle’s vocals - soon swells up into a slice of carnage, both shades of light and dark being enveloped in one giant guitar frenzy.
