Listen: Julia Holter Streams ‘Maxim’s I’ Track
New track is the heart” of Holter’s ‘Loud City Song’ album on Domino.”
The floating, six-minute waltz ‘Maxim’s I’ is Julia Holter’s chosen centrepiece of new album ‘Loud City Song’.
Holter calls this song the ‘heart’ of the record. Its themes - and lyrics - are repeated in ‘Maxim’s II’. The song’s mantra, ‘if you wanna be starting something’, rings out at a constant, but it’s about as far away from Michael Jackson as things gets, musically.
‘Loud City Song’ is released on Domino, 19th August.
