Listen: Lolawolf Stream New Single ‘What Love Is’
Zoe Kravitz and Reputante go soul-searching on a synth-spliced new single.

New York’s shiny but sinister synth-pop invasion continues. If Empress Of didn’t offer enough curveballs with her ‘Realize You’ single, wait until Lolawolf turn up on the doorstep.
Previous single ‘Drive’ was a cuss-laced introduction to Zoe Kravitz’s music. Kravitz is backed by Reputante, a band recently signed to Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records. It’s so NYC. But it’s also an impressive turn for a genre that churns out bands making casual missteps as soon as they walk up to a microphone.
Lolawolf’s new single ‘What Love Is’ might not have the air of a gorgeous Chromatics single, but it makes up for this on sheer guts. Kravitz still sounds like a rebel with a cause, pouring sweet vocals all over snappy slap bass and toy-ish drum patterns.
