Listen: Sky Ferreira Airs New Song, ‘Rancid Girl’

‘Night Time, My Time’ debut was just a drop in the ocean, if her claims of having 400 unreleased songs are anything to go by. Her stint at Capitol Records continues to fledge new music, with ‘Rancid Girl’ appearing online today (27th February).

Strictly a leak, Sky still plugged the song on twitter by saying ‘Leaks usually bother me but I actually like ‘Rancid Girl’ so that’s…cool?’

The track was written by Ferreira with Jon Brion, Cass McCombs and Fiona Apple collaborator Blake Mills. It’s a stripped-back, simple acoustic number; a big contrast to the dramatic, in-your-face pop of last year’s debut album, which comes out in the UK next month.
