Listen: Slow Club Cover Future Islands’ ‘Seasons (Waiting On You)’
Duo give their very own take on the Baltimore group’s frenzy-inducing track.
As this week’s DIY cover feature points out, every musician under the sun’s been swept up in Future Islands mania. From Grimes to Coldplay, it’s difficult to find anyone not singing the praises of the Baltimore group’s ground-breaking Letterman performance of ‘Seasons (Waiting On You’).
Slow Club also possess computers and a good taste in music, so it’s no surprise to see the pair returning their love for the band by covering the opening track on Future Islands’ ‘Singles’ album, out now.
The stripped-back cover trades outstanding dancing for piano-backed coos. It links up with the band’s very own Bond theme, ‘Complete Surrender’, which is taken from a third album out on 14th July.
