Listen: Spring King Stream ‘Better Man’ Track

joyride of ‘V-V-V-Vampire’, Spring King are really coming into their own with their first ‘proper’ single, ‘Better Man’.

Whereas ‘V-V-V-Vampire’ was a rough-around-the-edges romp through fuzzy garage rock, ‘Better Man’ is almost the complete opposite. Slicker, smarter and sonically stunning, Spring King are going full throttle here, rampaging down the highway in a Springsteen-esque fashion that’s laced with the kinetic, youthful energy of Ty Segall’s strongest work.

While the chorus is more than unintelligible under all the glistening gloop, it still packs the melodic punch of a Mikal Cronin one, and besides, it’ll still set your arms all a-flailing and your mouth all a-dribbling should you ever be so lucky to see it played live.
