Chicago’s The Orwells are the kind of guys you wouldn’t trust in possession of anything; house keys, a car, a bottle of gin. But give them a debut album to work with and they come up with the goods.

On ‘Southern Comfort’ - a song that’s been doing the rounds since the band were in their early days, signed to Aquarium Drunkard - the soon-to-be festival giants are seedier than ever, teenage hormones catching up on them. ‘Give me a smile and take off your pants,’ barks the ever-snarling Mario Cuomo. In real life he’s a genuine sweetheart, honest…

‘Southern Comfort’ links up with ‘Let It Burn’, which came out last week alongside the announcement of debut album ‘Disgraceland’. Said debut comes out on 2nd June via Canvasback/Atlantic.
