Listen: The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart Stream ‘Simple And Sure’
As sweet as eating 10kg of pick ‘n mix, listen to the first track from ‘Days of Abandon’.

Bright-eyed sweeteners The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart began the week by confirming details of their third studio album.
‘Days of Abandon’ was unveiled on Monday 24th February, alongside claims of a departure from the ‘roar and clamor’ of previous record ‘Belong’. A preview of ‘Art Smock’ - the record’s lead track - backed this up, tingly piano chimes putting less emphasis on ‘Pains’ and more on ‘Heart’.
New song ‘Simple And Sure’ is all the evidence needed that Pains Of… have gained an extra spring in their step. Still suitably amped up, it opts to bask in twanging guitars and sweet, sky-reaching synths. Nothing out of the ordinary, but it’s about as fresh-faced as a band could possibly sound.
‘Days of Abandon’ is released on 22nd April.
