Listen to Mickey Pearce’s remix of Django Django’s ‘First Light’

Django Django returned with a new track called ‘First Light’ earlier this month, which is expected to feature on the group’s second album. A remix of the track by Mickey Pearce backed the 12” surprise release which sold out very quickly. A stream of the edit has been made available to hear online.

On Mickey Pearce’s remix, the Swamp 81 member adds together drum samples and cutting reverberations that cloud ‘First Light’ with a high-octane pulse. The vocals are submerged with dissonance, though peek out occasionally through the dense rhythm that is remarkably even darker than the original.
