Little May “ridiculously excited” to be playing Best Kept Secret

It’ll be the band’s first time in the Netherlands.

This weekend (19th - 21st June), Alt-J and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will visit the Netherlands to head up the line up for this year’s Best Kept Secret. The Libertines, Royal Blood, Death Cab For Cutie and The Jesus and Mary Chain will also appear; and so will Australian trio Little May.

“I’ve never been to the festival before… I’ve never even been to the Netherlands before, so I am ridiculously excited,” says the band’s Annie Hamilton, who’s taking a quick break from recording. “My grandma is Dutch and I’ve always wanted to go there.”

“Alt-J have been one of my favourite bands from the last few years,” she continues, “so I’ll definitely catch their set. I’m also looking forward to Future Islands, Dan Deacon and The Vaccines.”

Do the band have anything special planned for their set? “We’ll be playing some of the songs off our 2014 EP, plus a handful of new songs we’ve been working on. Our sound has progressed a bit since we recorded the EP, so we’re really excited to show people some of the newer tracks, which are a bit of a different direction for us.”

“I love playing some of our more energetic, upbeat songs at festivals. There’s always such a great energy amongst the crowd and it’s always fun to play something that channels that energy.”
