Lollapalooza has been suspended until further notice due to dangerous weather.

Lollapalooza has been suspended until further notice due to dangerous weather.

Posting the news on the festival’s website, organisers have revealed that because of ‘an approaching storm,’ festival-goers are being directed to ‘pre-established underground evacuation and shelter sites.’

‘Our first priority is always the safety of our fans, staff and artists,’ says Shelby Meade, communications director for C3 Presents, the promoter behind Lollapalooza. ‘We regret having to suspend any show, but safety always comes first.’

The evacuation sites are as follows: NORTH 25 N Michigan Ave at Madison (between Washington and Madison); SOUTH 325 South Michigan (between Jackson and Van Buren); EAST Michigan between Jackson and East Adams.

The festival was due to take place in Chicago’s Grant Park from 3rd - 5th August, featuring the likes of Jack White, At The Drive-In, The Shins, The Walkmen, The Black Keys, Black Sabbath, Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand.
