Manchester’s iconic Deaf Institute to host next month’s Fifth Floor Fest
Local quartet Pyncher - who are headlining the event - have also shared their newest single, ‘One Day’, today.

It’s less than a month to go until Fifth Floor and DIY once again join forces for an ace night of music, and we can reveal that the event - aptly-dubbed Fifth Floor Fest - is set to take place at iconic Manchester venue, The Deaf Institute!
Taking place on Friday 8th May, the show will follow on from January’s Heavy Lungs appearance at The Louisiana in Bristol, and is set to include a stellar lineup of local outfit Pyncher, as well as Holly Head, Deaf Deaf Deaf, Getner, and Hauspoints.
A venue with a storied history - the Grade II listed building was built in 1877, and has been hosting live entertainment for over 100 years now - it’s seen some of the biggest names in music pass through in recent years, including Florence + The Machine, The xx, Johnny Marr and more, making it the perfect space to see some of the city’s most fierce new, guitar-driven artists next month.
If you needed any further evidence to get you in the mood for the show, Pyncher have also shared their brand new single, ‘One Day’, alongside the news that they’ve signed to Manchester’s own Heist Or Hit Records. An urgent but ultimately uplifting offering, their new track is - according to the band - about “people growing apart, and how you can’t really do much to stop it happening. There’s longing in the lines but also acceptance. We all change and grow and I think this song is me getting my head around that.”
