Mark Ronson streams new ‘Daffodils’ track, featuring Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker

Around the same time that Mark Ronson’s smash hit record breaker ‘Uptown Funk’ was unveiled for the first time, back in November, he also debuted a second cut from new album ‘Uptown Special’. Featuring Kevin Parker from Tame Impala, ‘Daffodils’ has been filtering around for the past few weeks via dodgy streams and scratchy recordings of an initial ‘Hottest Record’ play from Radio 1’s Zane Lowe. But now it’s streaming in full.

The track drops ‘Uptown Funk’’s bass-heavy strut for a new glance on funk. Parker’s psych-nodding falsetto gets a divine run, backed by wobbling guitar lines and synths that gleam towards territory that Ronson’s rarely covered before.

It’s one of two songs that the two collaborate on for ‘Uptown Special’. Further guests on the record include the likes of Stevie Wonder.
