Metronomy have a proper weird new video for ‘Night Owl’
There’s a lot to take in.

Metronomy have a new video for ‘Night Owl,’ and to cut straight to the chase, it’s dead weird. Oh yeah, and it’s directed by Mr Oizo (under his full name Quentin Dupieux)
A weeping Joe Mount ventures into the desert, and digs up a pair of shoes, before playing the slowest moving game of tennis in the world. He cruises with no direction in a Rolls Royce, and plays a game of snap where the only card in the deck is the Death tarot card. A brain crawls across the floor of a bathroom. He gets knifed, before turning into a crash dummy. In other words, the poor guy is having a total ‘mare.
‘Night Owl’ is taken from Metronomy’s latest album‘Summer ‘08’ which came out last month. Apparently, it’s the record that Joe Mount always wanted to make before being distracted by the runaway success of both ‘The English Riviera’ and ‘Love Letters’.
