Miguel to feature in a new film produced by John Legend

Miguel is set to feature in a new film, directed by Nabil Eldurkin and produced by John Legend.

Variety reports that the untitled romantic drama is set for production this September in Philadelphia, with a script provided by Taylor Cohen. Miguel’s character is said to be, “a former one hit wonder who regains his love for music when he is hired to coach an aspiring singer for her audition on a singing competition show.”

The film will mark Miguel’s acting debut as well as director Eldurkin’s feature film debut. Eldurkin is best known for directing FKA twigs’ ‘Two Weeks’ and John Legend’s ‘All Of Me’ videos - read DIY’s recent profile on the director here. John Legend recently won the ‘Best Original Song’ for ‘Glory’ at this year’s Oscar Awards.
