Momma drop final ‘Welcome To My Blue Sky’ preview ‘Rodeo’

US rockers Momma have offered up ‘Rodeo’, our final pre-release taste of what to expect from their forthcoming new album ‘Welcome To My Blue Sky’ (which lands on Friday via Lucky Number/Polyvinyl). 

The grungey track follows ‘Ohio All The Time’, ‘Bottle Blonde’, and ‘I Want You (Fever)’ as the LP’s fourth single, and sees the band consider “the perspective of two people [they] kind of left behind, romantically”. Continuing, co-songwriters and co-vocalists Allegra Weingarten and Etta Friedman have explained: “It’s our attempt at honouring their stories by tapping into the feeling of being replaced by someone else. 

“We made the video with Richard Smith, who had the idea to put us on an ice rink and have someone skating around us, with a bull chasing her. It’s supposed to replicate the idea of being in the centre of the ring of a rodeo, and feeling like someone is doing laps around you and you just can’t keep up.”
