Mourn share new 7”, ‘Gertrudis’
Following-up their 2014 self-titled debut, the 7” features three new tracks.
Youthful Catalonian punks Mourn have unveiled the follow-up to their massive 2014 self-titled debut in the form of ‘Gertrudis’ a 7” featuring three new tracks which channel everyone from Sonic Youth to PJ Harvey. The 7” features two tracks in English and one, ‘Salvador’, in their native Spanish tongue which (fun fact) was originally written for the kids stage of Primavera in Mourn’s early days, before taking its current gut-busting form.
The tracks are streaming now via Spotify and will be released on 7” vinyl via Captured Tracks this summer.
Mourn played a handful of UK shows earlier this year and are currently on tour in Europe before heading over the US for the first time for a number of dates including The Pitchfork Music Festival. Check out the full dates here.
Earlier this year DIY spoke to Mourn about forming a band while still in school, their first shows and writing in multiple languages. Check out the full interview here.
