Leeds art-rockers MUSH have released ‘Operation Vaken’, the first song taken from their debut EP ‘Induction Party’.
‘Operation Vaken’ is inspired by Theresa May’s 2013 “Go Home” vans, Guitarist and vocalist Dan Hyndman said: “It’s probably the more directly political track on the record. It is also musically the weirdest. One of the interesting things about ‘Operation Vaken’ is the name itself which has various connotations relating to the Third Reich. Very strange name for a British operation, not that I’m a conspiracy theorist or owt.”
Recorded by Sweaty Palms’ Ronan Fay at Glasgow’s Green Door Studio, ‘Operation Vaken’ is reminiscent of The Fall, Pavement, Sonic Youth and Television whilst sounding as fresh and visceral as 2018’s Alternative Facts and Gig Economy.
MUSH have announced a tour in support of ‘Induction Party’.
