New Issue Out Now, Feat. Icona Pop, Passion Pit, Gaslight Anthem & More…

Plus Dirty Projectors, Metric, Make Do And Mend and our top 100 tracks of the summer!

It’s summer, at long last, and music is all around. Whether it’s in the fields we’re all inevitably visiting, or in the tiny bars around town that have sweat dripping down the walls, everything about music in summer is some kind of wonderful.

And so, what could we do better than provide you with the ultimate DIY guide to the sunny season? Nothing, we thought! So that’s exactly what we did this month, and here it is in all its glory.

In our July issue of DIY Magazine, we soundtrack your summer with one hundred - yes, a whole one hundred - tracks; everything new, everything exciting and even a couple of golden oldies. Tracks to get you in mood for Reading & Leeds? Check. Tracks for those dark nights where you fancy a peruse into… rock? That’s in there too. Hell, even songs with the word ‘summer’ in. Yes, we have it all.

We’ve also declared Icona Pop’s ‘I Love it’ as our international summer anthem, and obviously, decided to have a chat to those cheeky girls.

We dive headfirst into the darkness that surrounds Passion Pit’s latest offering ‘Gossamer’, figure out the intricacies of The Gaslight Anthem’s new album ‘Handwritten’ and move on with The Dirty Projectors.

We chat the end of the world with Metric, find out what life in a band is really like with Make Do And Mend and figure out what really is going on with Aiden Grimshaw.

There’s news from the likes of Funeral For A Friend, Pure Love, Twin Atlantic, Novella, Lucy Rose and Bat For Lashes. Oh, and we give you a breakdown of that Muse trailer.

We get under the reviewing covers at Field Day, Slam Dunk, Watch The Throne, Primavera and RockNess, and give you our thoughts on the latest offerings from the likes of Future of the Left, Twin Shadow, Lemonade and Crocodiles.

There’s all sorts of new bands in there too, with a look at AlunaGeorge, Sunles ‘97, Doldrums, DIIV and Savages.

Oh and then there’s more. Just so, so much more. But don’t just listen to us, go and find out for yourself!

As well as being up for grabs at these fine establishments, you can also read it RIGHT NOW, here.

And if you’ve got any thoughts you just have to tell us, just drop us an email at [email protected]
