Out now!
New issue of DIY out now, feat. The Maccabees, FIDLAR, Chvrches & more
DIY is free - pick up a copy in our usual, beloved UK stockists or read for free online.
The new, August 2015 issue of DIY - fronted by The Maccabees - is out right now, available to read online, physically via our stockists.
This month’s issue tracks down the scattered backstory of The Maccabees’ latest LP, from Elephant & Castle’s ever-changing surroundings to strangers’ tales told throughout its songs.
Also in the new issue of DIY, Chvrches take us into their studio and give a guide to their second album ‘Every Open Eye’. “We don’t exist in a vacuum anymore,” says Lauren Mayberry, as the band begin to take grip of their huge status.
There’s also HEALTH. Six years after making their last record and with a mammoth job of soundtracking ‘Max Payne’ in-between that, they’re finally ready to bring out ‘Death Magic’, a record that sees them embracing their distorted pop side.
We get the word from Swim Deep about how studio experimentation shaped new album ‘Mothers’, and FIDLAR go by the motto of “If you wanna try it, fucking try it” ahead of their second LP ‘Too’.
Last month, we went to Latitude. Drenge compared their set to a surfing game, Marika Hackman played ‘Maraca Hackman’ and Wolf Alice confirmed their place at the top - we’ve got all the action covered in this month’s issue.
All that, plus chats with Mac DeMarco, Beach House, Daughter, Spector and Ryn Weaver, plus introductions to Oh Wonder, VANT, INHEAVEN and loads more.
DIY’s August 2015 issue is free and out now. Pick up a physical copy from our beloved stockists and Dr. Martens stores, or read online for free via Issuu.
