New Issue Of DIY Out Now, Feat. You Me At Six, Graham Coxon, Santigold & More
Blood Red Shoes, Breton, Alt-J, Mystery Jets & Alabama Shakes also get a good look in.

Here at DIY, we must admit, we enjoy a bit of noise, so obviously when the tabloids began to harp on that rock music was dead - again, may we add - we decided that we’d had enough. Thus, in this month’s issue of DIY Magazine we delved a little deeper to discover exactly who’s leading the pack for British rock bands taking on the mainstream, thus proving those silly newspapers wrong. And boy, are you in for a treat.
Our cover feature sees us explore the early days of touring, and what life has been like since for six of our ‘best of British’ (we just came up with that one now. Good, right?), all of whom, coincidentally, spent their younger years touring together anyhow. Flying the flag for us is the likes of You Me At Six, We Are The Ocean, Canterbury, Young Guns, Deaf Havana and Lower Than Atlantis. And, not only will you be able to explore our feature - along with some rather dashing photography, we must add - but we’ll also be running each of the band’s separate interviews online, so keep your eyes peeled.
It’s not all about the rock though! Oh no. This month, we also gets to grips with the second, and hugely-anticipated release from Santigold, discover the visions of Grimes (we went there) and find out what life was like for Mystery Jets when they went to America.
Speaking of the USA, we also caught up with the rather incendiary Alabama Shakes, who will be causing a riot near you very soon and found out all about how recording has been for The Gaslight Anthem.
Then, we gave Tegan & Sara a visit in their Los Angeles studio, chatted to Eugene McGuinness about his brand new album, and gave Blood Red Shoes the chance to raise their voices about their new offering.
There’s also the likes of Breton, Alt-J, Weird Dreams and The Futureheads. And that’s not even mentioning the fashion, games, film, tech or reviews sections of the magazine.
Oh, and there’s Graham. You know? Graham Coxon? Yes, him. Yay.
Gosh, you know what? Rather than listening to us go on and on, just go read it yourself! Then, go pick it up! Simples.
