New Sky Ferreira song emerges - ‘Guardian’

Sky Ferreira has been showcasing new material on a recent run of shows in North America, and you can hear audio of a track called ‘Guardian’ below.

Fans have posted a live recording of the track, which sounds sparser than anything on debut full-length ‘Night Time, My Time’. Lyrics include: “Always thought I needed a guardian and now that I got one / I wanna be free, I don’t wanna live my life unhappily” and “I wanna be free / From the dark that is deep inside of me.”

A second Sky Ferreira album is tentatively due out in 2015. This year saw her ‘Night Time, My Time’ debut gaining its UK release, picking up a five star review from DIY.

When quizzed on the follow-up to ‘Night Time, My Time’ in a recent interview with Billboard, Ferreira revealed that Ariel Rechtstaid and Justin Raisen were down to reprise their production roles and that she had been busy writing alongside Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie. Last week, she covered Hole on one of the final dates of her tour.
