Nilüfer Yanya announces new EP 'Dancing Shoes' • News • DIY Magazine

Nine months on from the release of her third album, Nilüfer Yanya has shared plans to release a brand new EP next month.

‘Dancing Shoes’ will follow on from last year’s full-length ‘My Method Actor’ when it lands on 2nd July, via her new label home of Ninja Tune. Written “alongside a collection of tracks that Nilüfer re-approached with her creative partner Wilma Archer” after her extensive tour in support of the record, ‘Dancing Shoes’ is four tracks in length, and will include her recently-released track ‘Cold Heart’, as well as a newly-released offering, titled ‘Where To Look’.

“We started writing this song for the album, but it was tricky to get it off the ground at that time,” Nilüfer has said of the fever dream-ish track. “Then when we came back from the tour, it suddenly clicked. Melodically it’s one of my favourite things ever. [I’m] very glad I was able to give it the time and breathing space that it needed.”

‘Dancing Shoes’ is set to land ahead of a comprehensive live schedule for the Londoner, which includes a slew of festival shows this summer, a tour alongside Alex G in North America in September and a run of dates opening for Lorde at her arena shows this November.
