North East Charity Compilation Unveiled: Futureheads, Field Music & More Contribute

A special charity compilation from ‘the North East’s music community’ has been announced, with the aim of raising money for the DEC’s East Africa Crisis Appeal.

Available in both physical and download formats, ‘NExEA’ features tracks from Field Music, Maximo Park’s Paul Smith, The Futureheads, Willy Mason, Lanterns On The Lake and Let’s Buy Happiness, amongst others.

Speaking about the release, Paul Smith commented: “I saw the shocking footage from Eastern Africa on the news like many others will have done and I felt pretty helpless. I’m glad I was approached to contribute something because it’s an amazing cause. I hope my slightly dodgy demo might have enough charm to sit alongside the strong line-up of other North Eastern musicians and encourage people to buy a copy.’

At least £6 from each physical CD (buy here) and £5 from each download (buy here) goes to the DEC appeal fund. DIY implores you to buy a copy, and give as much as you can.
