Of Monsters and Men to cameo on Game of Thrones
Will they headline Jon Snow’s banquet, or play a secret set at the Lannister gaff? Either way, they’ve been spotted on set.
Of Monsters and Men are to make a cameo in the new series of Game of Thrones. The Iceland-based band were spotted on set in Girona, Spain, all kitted out in costume outside the Sant Pere de Gallivants monastery.
Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir and Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson - both shown below in a tweet by a Girona-based user - were also wearing sunnies on location. Probably not authentic medieval fantasy gear, but never mind, eh? It’s not clear exactly what they’re up to, but we can hazard a few guesses - a headline show at Jon Snow’s banquet, or a secret set at the Lannister gaff could be on the cards.
Of Monsters and Men aren’t the first band to get in on the show, which recently smashed TV records by scooping 12 Emmy awards. The National provided the credit music for season two episode ‘Blackwater,’ and Sigur Rós, Mastodon, Coldplay’s Will Champion and Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody have also been involved.
