Awards Season
Olivia Dean wins big at 2026 BRITs
It’s a wholesome full circle moment for the breakout star, who started her career after attending The BRIT School as a teenager.

Olivia Dean has emerged as the most awarded artist of the 2026 BRITs, after winning four trophies - including Artist Of The Year and Album Of The Year (for her stunning second LP ‘The Art Of Loving’).
Her other accolades include Pop Act and Song of the Year, an award she shared with last year’s Mercury Prize winner Sam Fender for their joint effort ‘Rein Me In’.
Elsewhere, North Shields hero Sam was also named Alternative/Rock Act for the second year in a row, while the other genre categories were scooped by Dave (Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act), Fred again../Skepta/PlaqueBoyMax (Dance Act), and SAULT (R&B Act).
Longtime DIY faves Wolf Alice used their acceptance speech for Group of the Year (which they also won back in 2022) to highlight the urgent need to protect grassroots venues, while recent In Deep digital cover stars Geese were named International Group Of The Year for their cult favourite third record ‘Getting Killed’.
Other memorable moments from the ceremony - which took place last night at Manchester’s Co-Op Live Arena - included Harry Styles’ remarkable debut performance of recent single ‘Aperture’, ROSALÍA (who won International Artist Of The Year) teaming up with Björk for a stunning live rendition of ‘Berghain’, and Dolly Parton honouring the late Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Ozbourne, with a Lifetime Achievement award (after which a special tribute performance fronted by Robbie Williams closed the show).
2026 was the first time ever the BRITs had been held outside London, in a move North that has seen Manchester abuzz with BRITs Fringe events, workshops, special shows and more.
