Omar Souleyman confirms new album, featuring Four Tet and Modeselektor

Syrian singer Omar Souleyman has announced plans to release his new album, ‘Bahdeni Nami’.

The follow-up to 2013’s Four Tet-produced ‘Wenu Wenu’ (technically his first studio album, but he has hundreds of releases to his name) is coming out 28th July via Modeselektor’s Monkeytown label.

Additional production on the record comes from Four Tet, Gilles Peterson and Modeselektor. Black Lips’ Cole Alexander is down to release a separate remix on 7” this August.

‘Enssa El Aatab’ (produced by Modeselektor) is streaming below. “They say that we, Modeselektor, play at an awful lot of parties. Omar Souleyman has sung at a very, very large number of parties – wedding parties. We reckon that fits! The coolest man on the planet threw the wedding bouquet our way and we had no choice but to catch it. Welcome to the Monkeytown family,” says the label.

Omar Souleyman plays Bristol’s Colston Hall on 30th May.
