Orla Gartland shares video documentary on the making of 'Everybody Needs A Hero'

Less than a year on from releasing her second album ‘Everybody Needs A Hero’, all-round legend Orla Gartland has now surprise-released a special documentary detailing its production process.

Allowing fans to go behind-the-scenes at Middle Farm Studios where the album was recorded, the 20-minute video documentary was directed, shot, graded, edited by Emily Marcovecchio. “My friend Em joined us down at the studio to film some of us recording ‘Everybody Needs a Hero,’ my second full-length record,” Orla has said. “Documenting these moments of the process, both big and small, felt important even just for my own sake – when you come out of focusing on something that hard the whole experience feels like a fever dream, so I loved watching it back. I’m incredibly proud of this record; I pushed myself to make something that represented where I was at that point in my life and with the help of my very talented friends I think I did exactly that.”

Her new documentary lands after a big summer for the Dublin singer; not only has she played a slew of festivals, and supported Glass Animals out on the road, but she also shared new track ‘Now What?’ (as taken from the record’s extended edition) back in April, before winning an Ivor Novello (wit-wooooo!) award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically, with album cut ‘Mine’.

Check out the documentary below, and revisit of our review of the record underneath the video!
