Oscar Lang offers up new track ‘21st Century Hobby’

The song gets taken from his forthcoming debut album ‘Chew The Scenery’.

Ahead of the release of his debut album next month, Oscar Lang has shared his brand new ’21st Century Hobby’.

Another slice of psychedelic-leaning indie rock, his latest track follows on from previous singles ‘Stuck’ and ‘Are You Happy?’, while its lyrics delve into the toxic nature of social media.

The track gets taken from his debut full-length ‘Chew The Scenery’, which will be released on 16th July via Dirty Hit.

“‘21st Century Hobby’ is a tune based on the idea of society’s obsession with sharing your life online and comparing yourself to other people,” Oscar has commented, in a press release. “There was one point where I was spending 13 hours a week on social media, which equated to about a month every year. That was a really dark time for me - I always thought that it would never affect me, but it took some time to realise that it was subconsciously affecting my mental health.”

And that’s not all: Oscar has also scheduled a seven-date UK headline tour this October, which comes sandwiched in between several festival appearances later this year.
