Partybaby reimagine their debut album with ‘Versions’ - hear a new take on ‘Don’t Say It’
The Cali punks are tearing up their own work for a new release.
They might only have let loose debut album ‘The Golden Age Of Bullshit’ a couple of months ago, but Partybaby are already hard at work once more. Today, they’ve announced a reimagined version of that LP, ‘Versions’.
It’s being led by ‘Don’t Say It (Bedroom)’, a new version of track five on ‘The Golden Age Of Bullshit’. Where the original was a sunny-day California escape, the new version opens up a tender, acoustic-led-electronica new world for them to explore. Stream it below - it pairs up wonderfully with their new version of ‘Overload’, too.
In a note posted to Facebook (below), the group state that they want the release “to feel like a worn blanket, tattered from a lifetime of loving abuse, always there when you need it. The scope of the project may seem tiny but there’s an immeasurable amount of ourselves packed into it. Quite literally, there are voicemails from my grandmother in there… with the state of things as they are, we think everyone could use a little comfort anyways.”
‘Versions’ is out on December 9th, with Partybaby playing the following shows in the coming weeks. Catch up with the DIY interview with Partybaby.
