Passion Pit announce new album, ‘Kindred’
April release is being teased on the band’s Twitter.
Passion Pit have unveiled plans to release their third album ‘Kindred’, which is penciled in for an April release. The follow-up to 2012’s ‘Gossamer’ will be the group’s first without multi-instrumentalist Ian Hulquist, who announced his departure in October.
Teasing the album with coded messages on Twitter, Passion Pit confirmed the title via Morse code on Monday along with the open-for-discussion photo of a stranger. This was followed up days later with the phrase, “I put my hands in the air and my knees to the ground.”
A twelve second video accompanies the news of ‘Kindred’ - as does the possible lyric, “That flickering light’s just a flame.”
If you can’t wait until April, Passion Pit’s frontman, Micheal Angelakos has been sharing unreleased demos from a variety of projects on his Soundcloud page over the past few weeks.
Passion Pit have been announced for a handful of US festivals, with more tour dates expected soon.
