Passion Pit to host chauffeur-driven listening party after London show

Perhaps inspired by Willy Wonka, they’re hiding five golden tickets inside specially-customised 7” ‘Lifted Up’ singles.

Following their sold-out London show at Electric Ballroom on 16th April, Passion Pit are hosting a chauffeur-driven listening party for ‘Kindred’, their fast-approaching third album. Attendance is luck of the draw, decided via a scheme possibly inspired in part by Willy Wonka.

The first 70 fans through the door at the show will be given a free 7” single, customised by lead singer Michael Angelakos and his friends. Containing ‘Lifted Up’ and ‘Where The Sky Hangs’ as standard, five of the records will also contain golden tickets, which’ll win fans a chauffeured car home for them and two friends. While they’re reveling in their lavish transportation, the winners will be able to listen to ‘Kindred’ ahead of release. Kind of trumps a normal online stream for sheer decadence.

‘Kindred’ is out on 20th April via Columbia Records, with Passion Pit playing London on the 16th. Watch a short clip of Angelakos and his pals making the custom vinyls below:
