Pelicandy have a neon-lit new video for ‘Animals’
The new clip from the London four-piece was shot in Toronto.
After making an impressive entrance with ‘In Echoes’ last year, London four-piece Pelicandy are back with another shimmering, 80s-indebted cut.
Their new pop belter ‘Animals’ is accompanied by a new video, featuring the dancing of Roney Lewis and shot in location in Toronto. Mirroring the sheen of the track itself, it’s a neon-lit extravaganza where Roney takes the viewer through the streets on a dance-based voyage.
Speaking of the clip, director Renée Rodenkirchen said: “The video for ‘Animals’ happened really organically through friends. We went into conceptualizing for the video knowing we wanted a dancer to be the main focus. The Pelicandy guys knew a girl from Toronto and she suggested Roney who happens to live in the city; immediately we knew he was perfect. He kind of has this effortless cool factor to him - like he doesn’t really give a shit, but at the same time is super talented and polished as a dancer”.
