Petition started to save London’s Buffalo Bar
Widespread support gathers against the latest blow to the UK’s independent scene.

This November, it was announced that London’s Buffalo Bar was set to close. One of London’s best loved stages for independent shows and debut gigs, it’s set to open its doors for a final time on New Year’s Eve. Based in Highbury and Islington the venue has played host to the likes of The Subways, The Joy Formidable and We Are The Physics over the years and often serves as a launching pad for small acts just starting out.
This week a petition has been started via change.org to save the venue and is already gaining momentum, reaching almost three quarters of the signatures required in just two days.
The petition can be found and signed on change.org here.
Buffalo Bar will be hosting a New Year’s Eve fundraising event for the staff who have lost their jobs with immediate effect as well as a series of farewell shows starting with The Subways on 3rd December.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
