Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour joined Bombay Bicycle Club on stage at Earl’s Court
The guitarist joined in for a song from each artist.
Bombay Bicycle Club’s sold-out date at Earl’s Court this weekend was already ‘kind of a big deal’ before it transpired it would be the legendary west London arena’s final concert. Then Pink Floyd guitarist (and, it would appear, prior acquaintance - he gave Jamie MacColl his first six-string) turned up.
Pink Floyd were one of the first bands to play the venue in 1973, selling out two nights of ‘Dark Side of the Moon’. Which is presumably why he tagged along with the Londoners - who also had Rae Morris, Lucy Rose and Liz Lawrence in tow - for their own ‘Rinse Me Down’ as well as a take on ‘Wish You Were Here’.
Watch them in action below via some suitably shaky phone footage for the latter.
Bombay Bicycle Club released their Mercury nominated ‘So Long, See You Tomorrow’ back in February this year.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
