playlounge air ‘fan fiction’ video, share new b-side track

Thrashing magic like their lives depend on it, playlounge are charging through the summer with a double dose of new goodies.

The London via Brighton duo are airing a new, super 8 video for their ‘fan fiction’ track, taken from the debut album ‘pilot’ (out now on Dog Knights Productions).

There’s also a new b-side, ‘day trip to the plague pit’, which is the first song to surface since the record.

For the ‘fan fiction’ clip, the band recruited Moe Meade of the band Lady Neptune to compile and animate the clip. “I know they’ve used super 8 in the past and I think it really suites their aesthetic as a whole,” she says.

“It felt too easy just splicing old films together, so I did some scratch marks over the footage and then posted it to a friend of mine, the illustrator Alex Humphreys, to draw her animations over it too.,” she explains of the process.
