Premiere: Listen: Abhi // Dijon Remix MNEK’s ‘Every Little Word’

It seems almost rude to rid MNEK’s ‘Every Little Word’ of its ridiculous, in-your-face, ‘do you fuck to this shit?’ stance. But give Abhi // Dijon a chance. The Maryland production duo (of Abhi Raju and Dijon Duenas) swiftly follow on from Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard in giving a new take to the London talent’s show-stopping new single.

Stripping back the ear-popping synths and adding in a lifetime’s supply of reverb might not be the safest bit in these circumstances, but this is a remix that resides in its own comfy corner. What was initially a breakneck speed pop track now sits pretty as the final, closing song in an all-nighter playlist. Serene and strung out to the extreme, it’s proof that one fantastic song can exist in two completely opposite, equally impressive forms.
