Premiere: Listen: The Phantom Band Announce ‘Strange Friend’ Album

Listen to the Scottish group’s first new song in four years - ‘The Wind That Cried The World’.

This June, Scottish triumph The Phantom Band will release their third album, ‘Strange Friend’.

A follow-up to 2010’s ‘The Wants’, Rick Anthony and co. are promising an album that reflects the sound of six guys playing in the same room. At the same time - and on the basis of new track ‘The Wind That Cried The World’ - they’re sporting a more streamlined, refined version of their previous two, hugely acclaimed records.

This new track, premiering on DIY, is still very much the sound of an ever-inventive band moving to their own beat. It’s a song that flirts with grand crescendos, instead finding itself more comfy in the confines of sharp experimentation.

‘Strange Friend’ is out 2nd June 2014 on Chemikal Underground.
