Psychedelic Porn Crumpets release weird new video for ‘Social Candy’

Despite being contenders for winning the award of ‘one of the strangest band names ever’, Australia’s Psychedelic Porn Crumpets sure know how to write a riff.

After the release of previous track ‘Cornflake’, the band have returned with a weird new video for their latest track ‘Social Candy’ and it probably makes more sense for you to just watch it than us to try and explain what happens in it.

Of the video, frontman Jack McEwan said: “The world is weird. Who’s to know if your weird is the same as mine? ‘Gotta think outside the box mannnnnnn’ in your best Mcconaughey voice. We wanted to emulate the songs care free, spangled train wreck vibe and then Mighty Boosh came to mind. So we built our own Dioramas to the best of our year 7 craft abilities, called up our mate Jake who owns a camera and inhaled a shit load of paint, swallowed a bunch of sparkles and munched hard on Perth’s finest beach sand. The results are four cookers making the finest botch-home-job-video you’ll ever see. Spike Jonze rates it.”

If you’re quick, you might be able to nab a limited edition 7” vinyl of the track, which is limited to 500 copies worldwide, from the band’s Bandcamp.
