Radkey: ‘I See Our Sound Getting More Intense’
The brothers Radke are already promising a ridiculously loud start to 2014.

They’ve already proven themselves to be one of the loudest new bands in our Class of 2014, but Radkey aren’t content with just that. They’re set to turn things up to eleven and sooner, rather than later.
Having released two EPs in the last few months - most recently, the aptly titled ‘Devil Fruit’ EP in October - the brothers Radke have been quick to make their mark on new music: their brand of volatile punk rock reminisces with the most classic elements of the genre, whilst - possibly most importantly - being really bloody loud.
“I see [our sound] getting more intense,’ offers up lead singer Dee, when thinking forward to how their sound might progress, ‘and, you know, having more energy, than the last songs. That’s what we’re going to try to go for.”
In true punk rock style, they’re also no strangers to using their music to put across a message. Take their cut ‘N.I.G.G.A. (Not OK)’, for example, which sees the young trio attacking lazy racism. “There’s this kid that we know - he lets people call him the N-Word,’ explains Dee, ‘and it’s not cool, so we wrote a song about it.”
Proving themselves to be both ridiculously talented and socially aware, this young three-piece are ones to keep a close eye on next year, if you don’t hear them first.
