Rat Boy amps up excitement with Glastonbury secret set

Jordan Cardy & co. took to the stage at William’s Green last night for a not-so-well-kept secret appearance.

The Thursday night slots in the cosy William’s Green tent at Glastonbury have become infamous over the past few years. Not-so-secret sets from alt-J, Metronomy, The 1975, Wolf Alice and Drenge have previously kicked the festival off with nights of unparalleled excitement, and Rat Boy’s set to open this year’s event feels no different.

It takes Jordan Cardy all of ten seconds to launch himself into the front row of an ecstatic crowd for opener ‘Move’ - a throng that had clearly uncovered the worst kept secret of the weekend.

The Class of 2016 star prepares for his huge John Peel stage slot the following day by continuing his non-stop jaunt around a summer of festivals with enough enthusiasm to inspire a tent five times the size.

Rat Boy’s confidence is infectious, and growing with every next show, with each one feeling like a ‘moment’ for the fast-rising 20 year-old. His John Peel set will be the real test, but for amping up the excitement on the eve of the festival, no-one could have kicked off Glastonbury 2016 better than Rat Boy.
