Raury has unveiled his first material since last year’s ‘Indigo Child’ mixtape.

‘Fly’ was penned in light of the Ferguson controversy, as claimed by the Atlantan. “I wrote ‘Fly’ right after hearing that Darren Wilson was not being indicted for murdering Mike Brown. The words and music didn’t even feel like mine. I knew that this track belonged to the universe. Fly bears the scars, fears and thoughts of an 18 year old black boy in America.”

“I’m not a nuisance to mankind, and if I was I don’t deserve to die,” he sings, on top of a basic, affecting acoustic strum.

The track features Malik Shakur on spoken word vocals. It’s the first track to come from Raury since a recent Gucci Mane collaboration.
