RAYE releases new live album ‘Live at Montreux Jazz Festival’
Nina Simone, Miles Davis, Wu-Tang Clan and The Smile are among those to have previously committed their performances at the iconic festival to tape.

BRIT Award record-breaker and certified star RAYE has dropped ‘Live at Montreux Jazz Festival’, a new live album immortalising her set at the legendary Swiss festival this Summer.
The seven-track record captures her special performance on the shores of Lake Geneva (which DIY was lucky enough to witness back in July), and features hits like ‘Escapism.’ and ‘Genesis’, as well as a moving cover of James Brown and Betty Jean Newsome’s ‘It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World’. Nina Simone, Miles Davis, Wu-Tang Clan and The Smile are among the iconic artists who have previously chosen to share their Montreux sets, and RAYE has commented that “playing [the festival] was one of the greatest musical honours we have ever been granted.”
Continuing, she has shared: “I am so enamoured and in awe of the history of all the artists who have stood on the stage we shared, a festival dedicated to celebrating and providing a platform for true musicianship. I am so proud of this day we got to stand on that stage. I left the stage feeling the highest of highs.”
To add to the poignancy, the album’s cover also depicts the singer posing with her Swiss grandfather ahead of her performance - the first time ever he was able to see her sing.
RAYE’s ‘Live at Montreux Jazz Festival’ is available now digitally and as a limited edition 12” vinyl, while a recording of the concert will be available to watch on YouTube from 1st October. Check out the album’s tracklist and revisit our review of Montreux Jazz Festival 2024 below.
