Reading 2013: Splashh: “My Mum Would Never Let Me Come To Reading & Leeds”

As Splashh gear up for their set on the Festival Republic stage, we discover a secret truth about the band.

Splashh will very shortly be taking to the stage at Reading Festival, and we managed to grab two of them for a quick chat ahead of their set.

‘We’re excited!’ offers up bassist Thomas Beale, the British quarter of the band. ‘It’s the big one, isn’t it? Reading and Leeds?’ Guitarist Toto Vivian agrees: ‘We’re looking forward to it. It’s our last big festival of the year - the grande finale!’

The band, who will be performing songs from their forthcoming debut album during their Festival Republic set, also revealed a bit of a secret, too.

‘Reading’s that festival that you want to go to as a kid,’ admits Beale, ‘but my mum would never let me come to Reading and Leeds… It was always V Festival.’

Apparently his excuse is that he lives down the road. Yeah, yeah.

Splashh play Reading’s Festival Republic stage today at 6.15pm. Read DIY’s live blog here.
