The first ten acts have been confirmed for next year’s August Bank Holiday Weekender.
The first ten acts have been confirmed for next year’s Reading and Leeds festivals, with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rat Boy and Hinds leading the charge.
Anthony Kiedis & co. will be returning to the festival to headline as a festival exclusive, while our Class of 2016 star Rat Boy and previous cover stars Hinds will both be sure to whip up a frenzy at the weekender.
Joining them are The 1975 - who will be appearing in support of their forthcoming sophomore album ‘I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It’ - along with turbo-charged duo Slaves, Twenty One Pilots, Boy Better Know, The Courteeners, Crossfaith and DJ EZ.
Speaking of the fest’s first announcement, festival boss Melvin Benn has said: “I’m thrilled to be able to announce Red Hot Chili Peppers as the first headliner for Reading & Leeds 2016, as a festival exclusive. Their incredible live show will be an unforgettable headline performance at the UK’s biggest music festival. We’ve still got some really exciting names to announce and I can’t wait to reveal the rest of the line up. It’s going to be our best year yet.”
Tickets for Reading & Leeds 2016 are on sale now. To buy tickets, or for more information on the festival’s instalment plan, head to the weekender’s official websites.
Reading & Leeds 2016 takes place from 26th to 28th August, at Richfield Avenue and Bramhan Park respectively.
