Rihanna postpones ‘ANTI’ world tour

Representatives cited “production delays” as the cause.

Rihanna has postponed her ‘ANTI’ world tour. Originally slated to begin later this month, the dates will now begin in March. Her representatives have blamed “production delays” as being the cause. Eight North American dates have been affected by the reshuffle, including shows in San Diego, Houston, and New Orleans. A source in San Jose told Billboard that the second show on the ‘ANTI’ world tour - due to take place at the city’s SAP Center - was experiencing production issues, and wouldn’t have been ready in time. That date has now been scheduled for May. The tour push-back comes after Rihanna cancelled her appearance at The Grammys, where she was due to perform ‘Kiss It Better’. She has rehearsed her ‘ANTI’ cut ‘twice earlier on in the day, before an on-site doctor pulled the plug on the performance. She had been taking antibiotics prior to the awards show in an attempt to soldier on despite having bronchitis. Rihanna recently released her long awaited eighth album ‘ANTI’ after a record three and a half year gap between albums. She gave the album away for free to fans via music streaming service TIDAL. Rihanna will now play the following dates.
