Romy announces debut solo album ‘Mid Air’
She has also shared the new single ‘Loveher’.
Romy has announced details of her debut solo album: ‘Mid Air’ will come out on 8th September via Young Recordings.
The singer and guitarist, who rose to prominence as a member of The xx, has also shared the project’s latest single ‘Loveher’, which has been produced by Fred again..
‘Mid Air’ will also feature the previously released singles ‘Strong’ and ‘Enjoy Your Life’, the latter of which featured production from her bandmate Jamie xx.
‘Loveher’ is the album’s opening track and it was also the first track that was written for the record when Romy and Fred began working together to write songs for other artists. Romy explains that once the song had been written, “Fred asked me, who could this be for? And I tentatively said…’maybe me?’”
Romy is set to make a number of festival appearances this summer, including All Points East in London, Fuji Rock in Japan, Off Sonar in Barcelona and Glastonbury.
